“No one is left behind: Empowering the Invisible Youth” project

The purpose of “No one is left behind: Empowering the Invisible Youth” project is to facilitate the advancement of sustainable human, social and economic development through, care, support, protection, awareness, education and skills training, capacity strengthening, employment and recreation.

The problem of orphan / street children is acute due to civil war and urbanization, due to the deaths of drought and HIV/AIDS affected persons, Re-marriage of deserted / widowed / divorce women, absence of love and security in the families, Family disputes, Unwanted pregnancy of Trafficking / Sexually exploited girls; these orphan and street children are left without care and support. These children are involved in rag picking; pick pocketing and participating in anti-social, criminal activities. Therefore, we envisage mainstreaming these children in the national building by providing care, support and protection in an ORPHAN CHILDREN HOME

Project site identification.

The local partner organization has pioneered and paid visit in late November 2018 to the 2 project sites in liaison with the local municipality and stakeholders so, as to jointly observe the two Orphanage Home Care sites, one in Cagaaran, Mudug region and one in Garowe, Nugal region that project is meant to support.

Stichting Rajodoon representatives also made planning and monitoring trip to Somalia and paid a visit to the 2 project sites along with local partner in liaison with local municipality and stakeholders. During the visitation of project sites, the representatives have met directly with the children and youth in orphanages, took time with them to share the objectives of the project and information of the Donner and supporters of the project funds, and also the future plan of the project. The children and youth at the orphanages also provided and shared their overall view and feelings about the services and treatment by the staff and management team of the orphanage sites to the Stichting Rajodoon representatives, which was positive and admiration.
